Swims’cool’ was founded in 1992 at Southport and Formby District General Hospital. What began with Paul’s passion for swimming has rapidly grown from strength to strength with Swims’cool’ welcoming over 10,000 swimmers over the last three decades and cementing its place as Southport’s leading swim school.
After 10 years, Paul decided to take the plunge and build his own pool in Marshside; on the 12th May 2001 Swims’cool’ was opened by Olympic swimmer Nick Gillingham MBE, marking the beginning of a now 20-year journey. During this time, Swims’cool’ has evolved from a single 20-metre pool to a full health club featuring a fantastic gym and an additional 25-metre pool.
Throughout, Paul – supported by his incredible team - strives to encourage all children to reach their maximum potential and enjoy their time in the water. From learning to swim for safety and confidence in water-based activities to a dream of representing your club, county, or country, Swims’cool’ offers something for everyone.
